i was just remembering the hillside hat worthy tea party in the OTHER jerome, where the queen came.

when i learned of her presence i said to brother mikey, "quick say something snooty" and he replied "this grape is ALMOST perfect" in a pretty good english accent before popping it in his mouth.

memories

one year it took me til the end of November to do my hillside laundry. so it was a long time until i was impressed with the kooky shapes the volunteer cutter made the couching sheets!
*
"so, that thing about the student? i know about that" a young stranger says to me, holding up a tiny piece of shredded journal like he's reading it.
so, i HIT him! like, on the shoulder and we are both smiling but
"she HIT you!" his friend says.

"i know, i'm sorry. hard too." i apologized to both of them. "you really freaked me out!"

i am sad to say that i went unhugged (and didn't hug anyone) at hillside when the performer suggested we grab the person next to us...
