Workshop Submission/Site Proposal:
A proposed open studio for papermaking, where pulp of used junk paper may be transformed into beautiful new sheets, with added pizzazz from natural touches like flower petals and leaves. Imagine a picnic table sized papermaking station set up inside the Lake Stage area or Island Stage area -- along the back, beside the food vendors and kids activities that were new last year, or maybe near the latern station? (From past years I have found too much set up/tear down time to be suited to a repeated one hour workshop, so propose it as a longer standing workshop and/or even open studio option for this year)...
Equipment and Supplies:
I can provide all the materials to set up the Paper Making Station, with instructions that are self-explanatory for sheet making. I would be delighted to be available to demo and/oversee participants traffic/hands-on actual papermaking for several hours each day. I am also happy to provide take home handouts instructions on how to make your own mold and deckle, or use other methods for the screening process.
Presenter also provides: Premade pulp and all kits and materials (vat, jugs, mold and deckle sets , couching towels, sheets to support each newly formed page), and recyclable junk papers in different colours for different pulps.
Description:
The Reuse/Recycle PaperMaking Workshop offers a creative way to transform unwanted, unneeded paper into useful and wonderful art paper. Fun for ages 3 and up, the facilitator can balance the needs of young and old, beginners as well as experienced artists. There is no need to limit the number of participants. All are welcome to watch the papermakers at work or take a turn at sheet making. Participants may take away samples.
Bio:
Kim Logue is a dancing girl, poet, songwriter, journalist, aspiring musician and all around fun lover, who has appreciated past Hillside Workshops as one of few remaining craft initiatives in her busy life. She has done papermaking presentations and taught lessons in a variety of venues, after spending years experimenting with paper arts in kitchens, porches and backyards from Ontario to Arizona and back.

Hillside Inside
I still haven't been.
I'm not sure it will ever have any tradition for me.
In all honesty, I haven't even really heard a review. Does the blog guelph recap count?

MORE SURVEY BLURTS:
i thought it was nice to see the schedule POSTED near the sun stage. i walked over there often to see who i had just seen, or who i wanted to see next.
*
i thought the socan straps were nice and soft (for sunburned necks) this year. thanks!
*
THANKS FOR THE WATER. i thought the mc announcements about the water trucks were good too. could water vessles be sold there as well? also, i did notice performers getting bottled water and also bottled water being driven out to volunteers at various posts? if so, are there any alternatives?
*
it was nice that there were kids activities in the beer tent stages. puppet theatre especially.
*
good new island overflow parking
*
VOLUNTEERS NEED MORE TRAINING, or so some of them told me.
i have lots of emergency planning instructions i could share.
*
the friday marathon listening on CFRU was great. too bad it was note promoted somehow in the program for archived listening or something... i also saw a podcast questions in the survey again this year - what is coming up next? d'ya wanna hand?
*
i liked the military style hillside-caps that ran out. maybe i still want one - can hillside merch be purchased year round?
*
contact info for workshop presenters (esp healing arts, enviro, children's area) should be in program
*
was the site map correct (ie esp. rainbow stage) ?
workshop times are better to remember if same time and place each day
I WOULD LIKE TO BE OF MORE SUPPORT TO HILLSIDE, PLS FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME IN REGARDS TO VOLUNTEER ROLES.

jude, katherine, jessie, evan & geordie.

i made it back for the mini set at 9pm, did u?

#1) next year the pony needs to be on time, so as to have some chill out time when she gets off the trailer, AND so that we get to use our full time slot, AND so that we don't weird out the mc's et al with our confusion etc. etc. etc.
- i was talking over story time AAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK.
- heather needed a break in the middle of our already shortened presentation
#2) the ponly was also filthy. next time she gets a bath before she leaves, and a little grooming on the unloading
